Welcome back after the half term break. This week's pictures from the Science Lab feature Year 8 making compasses, and Year 9 producing 'plastic' from milk. If you're interested in the science behind these activities ask one of the students to explain it to you. I'm sure they'll be happy to share their knowledge with you.

Some of the compasses made by Year 7. Can you spot the odd one out?

 Precipitation the milk protein (casein)

Separating the casein from the liquid whey.

 Moulding the "plastic'.
Let's see how these turn out next week.
